ME in the FUTURE

Wise decision is heavily needed in choosing the right course. Students, specifically graduating like me most weigh the courses we want. Their effects to us. We must choose the one which we are interested with. We mustn't be unsure in taking a course because this will lead us to the future us.

Just when I entered the third year of high school, I realized i wanted to take an Engineering course. There are lots of them but the one that stuck on my head is Chemical Engineering. At first, I did not knew what is its function. But as I took a deeper look at it, i was illuminated. I want it and its final.

My parents did not argue with me with my chosen course. Because they believed that i will be the only one who can decide with this matter. Most that I know told me that its hard. It did not matter. I am known as a risk taker and a challenge lover. No one can stop me once I get started.

Me as a Chemical Engineer. This is me 10 years from now.

CHANGE: It starts with ME

Change is the only permanent thing that exists in the world. Everything changes. Time element is the backbone of it. We could not always be the same. There is always "before and now" and "now and after". We were created to make change and to change. To make other things right and to learn from our own mistakes.

Fairness seems to be fading. Even though in the eyes of God we are equal. There are lots of bad things that are happening. And these are getting worse each time that passes. I, myself, is aware of these. But I am still 16 years of age. I keep asking myself, " Could I make a CHANGE?"

Rizal once said, " Youth is the future of our Mother land". I once thought he made a wrong prediction. Very wrong prediction. What made me think of it? Its the youth of today's doings (I include myself). Most of us are engaged with the poor environment around us. We are getting sick of the cancer in our social world. Eventually some or maybe most of us will decide to join the cancer.

I am, a student. Weak physically not armed but strong mentally. I can make a change. I won't allow that worse to become worst. I can be a catalyst of change. We can be . If bad things can influence, good things are more influential. We just need to Act.

Provincial Fiesta

After the Vigan City fiesta, here comes the Ilocos Sur Fiesta. Kannawidan is the local name of the province's fiesta. It starts every 31th day January and lasts for a couple of days. Since Provincial Capitol is located at Vigan, the fiesta is like a continuation of the said municipality.

Like in other provinces, there is always a room for people who plan to sell something with regards to the fiesta's theme. The Kannawidan booth is located beside the capitol. Not like in other fiestas, plants and other garden stuff are being sold at the booth. Eateries are of course present. these are placed at the southern part of Plaza Salcedo. Every night there is a program that takes place. This time the northern part of the Plaza Salcedo served as the theater for Kannawidan. There are always guests. But the most awaited show is the live performece of the sarzuela artists. It's been a tradition that every year Sarzuela presentation is not lost to indicate that vintage presentations are still stunning to watch.

I haven't step at the Kannawidan booth. I am too busy rushing or making my projects . But I am hoping to finally visit the booth.

St. Paul's Fiesta

Vigan city is widely known as a UNESCO city. It is rich with old-fashioned houses uniquely from the Spanish Colonial . It is also rich with the finest delicacies in the Ilocos Region. Bagnet, Empanada, Longanisa. These are just some of them.
The unique city's fiesta happens every 25th of January of the year. its been a tradition that on this day there are no classes and office works inside Vigan City only. I consider myself lucky enough because on the big day of the city's patron, St. Paul, I marched along the historical streets of the city. It was a must for me to joined the parade because I am a proud CAT officer. We raised the flag of our school on this parade. It is always good to hear that someone, described us as the best among the other CAT officers who joined the parade. My ears seemed to fly when I herd that awesome news.
I did not spent much time to celebrate the fiesta with my friends, rather, I and my family went home early. That's how I spent January 25 2011.
